If the standard requirement is too high, it will affect the energy-saving level, if the standard requirement is too low, it will affect driving safety. Therefore, starting from the road lighting design standard itself, research how to make the standard itself more conducive to energy saving under the premise of ensuring the safety of road lighting. It has a deeper significance in the research of road lighting energy saving. The development of this research work can improve road lighting. Energy-saving research has risen from the tactical level to the strategic level, so as to achieve a greater degree of energy consumption reduction. International: The formulation and research of national road lighting design standards by countries generally refer to international road lighting design standards on the basis of the actual road traffic conditions. At present, there are two most authoritative standard systems in the world. One is the 'Road Lighting Recommendations for Motor Vehicles and Pedestrian Traffic' (115-1995) proposed by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE), which is adopted by most countries in the world ; North America: led street lights 'Road Lighting' (RP-8-00) [8-9] proposed by the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA), which is mainly used in American countries. These two sets of standards are a comprehensive balance between the two factors of road safety and energy saving, and have been promoted on a large scale, but the similarities and differences between the two sets of standards are only carried out internationally. Some qualitative comparisons have been made. As for the main differences between the two types of standards in evaluation methods, lighting indicators, and energy-saving effects, there is still a lack of quantitative in-depth research. Therefore, an in-depth analysis of the quantitative differences in evaluation indicators and calculation methods of these two standards and the related differences in lighting effects and energy consumption has great engineering guiding significance for promoting energy saving and emission reduction from the strategic height of road lighting standards.
