Market share of smart street lamps will grow to 20 in 2026

With LED becoming a street lighting upgrade technology, the next frontier of intelligent street lighting network is to rapidly increase the deployment of control technology and transform it into an innovative platform for intelligent cities. Ryan Citron, an analyst at Navigant Research, said that sensors and other technologies are being added to the intelligent street lighting network. A new report by Navigant Research shows that the market value of intelligent street lamps will reach 6. 5% in 2017. $0. 1 billion and grew to $6. 9 billion in 2026. The market share is expected to increase from 2 in 2017 to about 20 in 2026. The smart street lighting report for smart cities concludes that LED lighting has now become a standard substitute for traditional street lighting in most cities in the world, and intelligent control is beginning to become more and more extensive and gradually deployed with LED lighting. Many cities around the world are likely to replace existing street lamps with new and more efficient lighting equipment in the longer term, not only to meet energy efficiency standards, but also to be economically feasible. LED lighting is obviously a wise choice, but the new Navigant report says that intelligent control currently accounts for only 2 of the lamp installation base in 2017 and is not fully utilized. According to the report, this situation may change, and the installation base of intelligent street lamps is expected to increase from the current 6. 3 million to an astonishing 73 million in 2026. With LED becoming a street lighting upgrade technology, the next frontier of intelligent street lighting network is to rapidly increase the deployment of control technology and transform it into an innovative platform for intelligent cities. Ryan Citron, an analyst at Navigant Research, said sensors and other technologies are being added to the intelligent street lighting network to provide a large number of new urban services, including gun detection, air quality monitoring, electric vehicle charging, traffic management and intelligent parking, etc. Obviously, there are many driving factors behind the smart street lamp economy. LED lighting is widely accepted due to significant cost reduction and improvement of lighting quality. LED can now provide necessary yellow lights for street lamps. A year ago, Cree introduced a new rsw led street lamp lighting system, which is the first example of a new generation of lighting. It not only improves energy efficiency, but also provides the warm color temperature required by street lamps. At that time, Norbert Hiller, executive vice president of Cree lighting, said: Cree is committed to providing a better lighting experience by continuing to develop the real potential of LED technology. Cree's RSW series ensures that residents no longer need to face dazzling street lamps at night, saving the city's energy and reducing residents' complaints about dazzling street lighting. The Navigant report explains that installing an intelligent control system while deploying new LED lighting is a cheap way, which explains why the adoption of intelligent control measures is still lagging behind. Intelligent street lamps may be an important tool for cities to adapt to future energy efficiency requirements, but there are still some obstacles. Navigant Research highlights these concerns: alleviating citizens' concerns about surveillance and privacy intrusion, the legacy street lamp ownership model still exists in some jurisdictions, the complexity of application projects and the need to increase upfront capital, these are all challenges facing the smart street lamp market. Navigant predicts that Europe will have a large smart street lamp installation base by 2026, followed by Asia Pacific and North America.
