LED standard confusion analysis

The reason for the confusion of lighting industry standards is that China's LED standards are too eager to formulate specific product standards while ignoring the basic standard system research. Chen Yansheng, chairman of the China Lighting Appliances Association, warned that there is no lack of standards in China's LED lighting industry at present, but if new standards rush in various places, it will easily cause serious waste of resources. As Chen Yansheng said, if the industry can introduce a unified standard for all parties to follow as soon as possible, it must be a happy thing. LED is not synonymous with high-end atmosphere. It is indispensable in any bright place around us: indoor lighting, TV, car lights, and even a small flashlight, they are all members of the LED family. The relevant market prospect is even more limitless: at present, LED production capacity is transferring to China, and about 50 LED packages and more than 60 LED applications are all carried out in China. In the LED industry that believes in the supremacy of standards, the above data fully reflects the size of the right to speak. As a result, some localities and associations quickly formulated LED technical quality standards to seize the market. At present, the LED industry standards in many places are formulated spontaneously by enterprises. Can the industry standards formulated by such enterprises be convincing? If no one is convinced, what is the meaning of such a self-respecting local standard? It is undeniable that enterprises and localities may benefit from the introduction of a local standard, but the potential hazards of local technology and trade barriers formed at the same time cannot be ignored: inadequate market competition is not only not conducive to the overall technological progress of the LED industry, but also suffers consumers: If even buying an LED product requires one standard, consumers are not allowed to become experts? If manufacturers can proceed from the interests of consumers, it is not difficult to find a unified standard: LED research and development closely focuses on the performance indicators such as cost performance, energy consumption, service life and harm that consumers care about, and thinks more about what products the market needs, that is the industry standard that is universally applicable.
