German research: LED lights are expected to become network equipment

Another problem is that strong sunlight will affect the signal receiver of the LED light, which will cause some damage to the LED equipment used outdoors. As the distance changes, its performance will change. The transmission speed outside the range of 20 meters is only 20 megabits per second.

In addition, this kind of visible light communication also requires line-of-sight communication conditions, after all, light cannot have the function of penetrating walls. However, through the coordination of all the LED lights in the room, users can still receive signals in any corner of the room.

The limitation of this research and development is that not every user wants to have a luminous LED light on his head when his mobile phone or computer receives signals. However, the research team said that future research and development may introduce infrared LED lights that are invisible to the naked eye.
