The commercialization of OLED lighting is facing large-area flexible problems. The commercialization of OLED lighting is one of the most concerned topics in the industry. The fifth Shanghai International New Light Source u0026 New Energy Lighting Forum will be held on the day of the year. High-efficiency and low-cost organic electronic lighting At the display application session, DietrichBERTRAM, the global director of Philips Oled's lighting department, focused on the technology development roadmap for OLED to be commercialized. According to Guan Wenhui, the biggest advantage of OLED compared with other light sources is that it is a flat solid-state light source with fast response speed, diffuse light, long life, dimmable, high light efficiency, transparent light source texture, and plastic shape of the light source. Strong, if metal or plastic substrates are selected, excellent performance such as flexibility will also be achieved, and the commercialization prospects are attractive. The luminous efficiency of OLED is improving rapidly, and it is expected to replace the existing incandescent lamp and other traditional light source lamps in the future. The luminous efficiency of white light OLED is Lm/W in cd/square meter. Luminous efficiency is expected to double every year. But Guan Wenhui also pointed out that when the practical efficiency reaches Lm/W, a bottleneck may occur. As for the luminous color, the annual target is monochrome and different tones of white,-after the year, the color will be gradually realized. In terms of flexibility, Guan Wenhui said that the current OLED is based on glass, and the next step will be to develop thin film packaging, which can reduce the thickness by more than %. In the future, the use of bendable plastics as substrates will be developed, and OLEDs will have flexibility. The product has been developed in the laboratory and is expected to be commercialized in the next year. In addition, the transparency of the light source is also one of the main features of OLED. At present, the OLED looks like a mirror when it is turned off and is opaque. However, it is expected that after one year, with the development of technology, OLED is expected to be transparent in the closed state. In this way, the OLED panel will be able to integrate functions such as lighting and information display. At the same time, OLED has a significant performance advantage. Flexible substrates such as plastic or metal sheets can be used instead of glass substrates to prepare bendable displays. Compared with ordinary hard-screen displays, flexible displays have many advantages: impact resistance, stronger shock resistance, light weight, small size, and more convenient carrying, and can therefore adopt a tape-and-reel process similar to the newspaper printing process, which is more costly. Low cost, can meet the needs of future display and lighting. Ton van MOL, manager of the OLED lighting department of Horst Center in the Netherlands, said that how to reduce the price of OLED products to the extent that it can replace traditional lighting, technically possible methods include: development of OLED-based RR production methods, development of large-scale, transparent Electrodes, deposited layers of OLED, etc. An important reason for the realization of the flexible dot matrix screen is the process problem involved in the preparation of the flexible screen display. The polymer substrate can only withstand processing temperatures below °C and is easily deformed under high temperature conditions. This makes the low-temperature preparation process required for the soft screen conflict with the high-temperature curing process of the insulating layer and the spacer. In addition, if a relatively poorly flexible metal material is used as the cathode structure in the soft screen, new defects are likely to occur during the driving process.
