With the development of digital technology and network technology, street lamp digital and network has become an inevitable trend. To save energy and ensure life, improve the management level of lighting lamps and lanterns, beautify the city night and ensure the safety of the city at night and so on, has become a basic requirement of the lighting system. The continuous development of social civilization, the swelling of city scale, urban lighting has not only confined to the road lighting, society, open to turn off the lights for lighting rate of accuracy and real-time performance of the fault detection and maintenance of timeliness, street lamp energy requirements are also increasing. Number of rapid growth, expansion of the city street lamp artificial real-time monitoring control method in the fault processing, on-demand control, energy saving, etc, has been more and more not suitable for the development of the city. So for street lamp intelligent control and energy saving measures have been taken very meaningful.
LED intelligent street light control system designed in this paper the STC89C58RD microcontroller as the main control chip, which can realize the clock timing open to turn off the lights, according to the environment changes of light and shade to achieve open to turn off the lights, lights automatically adjust according to the traffic situation, street lamp fails to implement sound and light alarm, and a series of intelligent behavior.

this paper proposes a design scheme of street lamp intelligent control system based on single chip microcomputer, and completed the design of hardware and software. Intelligent control device can automatically adjust according to the traffic situation lighting condition: when the vehicles or pedestrians near the street lamp, street lamp lights gradually; When the vehicles or pedestrians from street lamp automatically dimming and finally go out. Controller can independently control each lamp lights and turn off the lights.
